I’ll get right to it today …
I’ve had 2 recent interactions, 1 with a friend and 1 with my coach, where I got called out … and I liked it.
Not so much in the moment …
However, with some time and perspective, I was able to grow from these experiences and ultimately, that’s what I want out of life.
What did I get called out on, you might ask?
Well, my shit … of course …
The funny thing is … we ALL have it.
The question (s) is/are …
- Are you wrapped up in it?
- Or working on it?
Very different things …
And totally ok if it’s both, at times.
I needed to look at things differently, because what I was seeing was not what they were seeing.
With my friend, it caused a brief weirdness … cause nobody likes telling another person that there shit stinks …
However, I owned it, in order to move forward and learn.
I’m happy to report, we are still friends … because I ONLY want people in my life who have the courage to call me on my shit … not put up with it.
With my coach, it was a matter of seeing how my past has helped serve me to this point and how the horrible things I had to go through were building blocks for what I do now: Coach.
Though, there lies the conundrum … my past can’t be my future.
In order to move into my future, I have to own my past … not the other way around.
It wasn’t my fault what happened.
Only what I do with the pain moving forward.
When my pain controls my actions, I’m not able to ascend to my highest, clearest self … I’m in the weeds.
That’s where my exercise and nutrition have empowered me.
I can choose to stay in the weeds, with shitty thoughts, or do something that brings me to a place where I can truly serve, by thinking better.
And with the help of my coach, I’m surrendering to a more compelling future … not remaining shackled to my past, like the elephant tied to a stake with a rope …
This requires the deep work.
The kind that most are afraid of.
Because they don’t know how, or where to start.
So they don’t.
And live lives full of quiet desperation.
Hoping one day … it will get better.
It won’t.
Until you own your shit.
Am I wrong?

P.S. Here are 4 more ways you can become happier and healthier:
1. Podcasts
Some of the greatest insights and healing for me, have come from listening to podcasts in the last few years. This long-form type of communication, I’ve found, has been extremely important for understanding context, while learning how to make sustainable change.
That’s why I have started to find ways to get our story on some podcasts, and give you an opportunity to really go deep with us, and see what we’re all about. That way, you can decide if this tribe fits your personality. Click the link below to go to our podcast page, where you can find all our episodes!
2. Rise
Rise is the story of ‘never feeling powerful … to … never feeling powerless’. It’s about John Bair’s life, why he does what he does and how his suffering created happiness.
This handwritten book takes you through an intimate, yet, self-revealing journey, which allows you to implant yourself into the story, as it relates to your own, and reveal the steps you’ll need to take, in order to make change a successful reality.
