Turning Pain into Gain

I recently reconnected with one of my brother Tony’s old friends, on Facebook – one thing it is good for.

In fact, you could almost call it serendipitous, others might say ‘coincidence’.

I liked being around Tony and even though he was younger than me, I got to know his friends too.

Since writing about My Psychedelic Experience and sharing it, I’ve had some ‘not-so-coincidental stuff’ start to happen.

One of my readers who is also my friend, was interested in my revelation, which was that I am going to write a Hip Hop song.

He told me he’s a musical ‘jack of all trades’ and can help me get started, which was awesome, because I didn’t know how!

And the aforementioned friend of my brothers, I found out is a sound engineer/producer and makes music come to life as well!

Kinda cool to see that if you put it out there, ‘stuff’ starts happening for you.

This friend of my brothers has written a few Hip Hop songs himself because, as he told me, he had been through an affair and was ‘letting out all the wickedness’ on the mic.

I thought that was quite brave of him to put that out there and process it in such a raw, visible way.

It’s always inspiration for me to see that others pain, whether mental, emotional, spiritual or physical, can lead to something that helps other people heal.

In his case, it’s music.

I love music (and Mindset, Fitness, Nutrition).

It’s really easy to know if something is ‘good’ and ‘moves you’ if it immediately gets you moving your body somehow, and out of your head for a minute.

Watching people in my group classes nod their heads, tap their feet, shake their butts, do a few dance steps, mouth the words and just forget about life, is pure joy to watch.

It’s all come full circle for me and makes complete sense.

We facilitate people healing themselves, getting fit, exercising properly, eating well and becoming healthy(er) – sure.

We challenge the way people think and hold them accountable to growing into their best selves, by saying things to them most others will not – yes.

But at the end of the day, we know everyone wants to ‘feel better’, ‘be happier’, ‘experience joy’ and ‘heal’.

All of that can happen.

  • I have a sense
  • You’ll turn your pain
  • Into someone’s gain
  • Through experience

P.S. Here are 4 more ways you can become happier and healthier:

1. Podcasts

Some of the greatest insights and healing for me, have come from listening to podcasts in the last few years. This long-form type of communication, I’ve found, has been extremely important for understanding context, while learning how to make sustainable change.

That’s why I have started to find ways to get our story on some podcasts, and give you an opportunity to really go deep with us, and see what we’re all about. That way, you can decide if this tribe fits your personality. Click the link below to go to our podcast page, where you can find all our episodes!

Rise is the story of ‘never feeling powerful … to … never feeling powerless’. It’s about John Bair’s life, why he does what he does and how his suffering created happiness.

This handwritten book takes you through an intimate, yet, self-revealing journey, which allows you to implant yourself into the story, as it relates to your own, and reveal the steps you’ll need to take, in order to make change a successful reality.
