What we really do here …

I’ve been thinking a lot (shocker) about what it is we do here, versus what is being done at all the other places locally, and even around the world.

The truth is, we are all teaching the same thing, exercise, and there isn’t anything new about exercise.

The difference is how it’s all packaged, and ultimately, what the end user ‘thinks they want’ is what is sold.

These days, phrases like ‘ripped abs’, ‘burning calories’, ‘heart-rate fat loss’, ‘high intensity interval training’, ‘cardio’ and all the other fitness mumbo-jumbo that gets people to buy in, is bollocks.

People think you are supposed to go to a place where someone ‘kicks the crap’ out of you for an hour, and then repeat that 4-5 times a week.

When most average people who have not been active go full throttle like that for awhile, of course they will see some results, and it will reinforce the belief that this is good because they got quick results.

The issue is, that isn’t sustainable for a long time, and eventually, the body breaks down.

I see it on my end because I get people who come to me, who’ve been broken by all these other places and I’ve had to talk people out of doing stupid shit because that’s what they thought they had to do.

Then on the flip side, getting them to buy into a reasonable approach that would get them their results, albeit, just different than what they were used to, but most people don’t think reasonable can work, and that’s the problem, it’s the ONLY THING that does.

Remember the email from last Friday and hearing about how Becky lost over 80 pounds here at Bair Knuckle Strength in a year, coming 2 or 3 classes a week, usually 2, and nowhere in there did it say she had to beat herself down with cardio, jump around like an idiot, get in the ‘fat-burning’ zone, or whatever else everyone thinks is the answer.

Nope, she showed up, got stronger, and all that other stuff happened …

The reason people don’t think reasonable can work is because they want their results yesterday, and would rather risk getting hurt with this borderline criminal fitness, than learn how to take care of themselves properly.

Another reason is, most people know they don’t want to change their habits, so they think if they just workout really hard, they can hide the dozen krispy kremes they crushed last night.

News flash …

You can’t out-run, out-lift, out-yoga or out-zumba a donut … period.

Your results are your responsibility and at some point, you must take ownership of that.

However, people believe if they hire a coach that the results are up to the coach, and if they just pay the coach and check out mentally, they will somehow still reach their goals … and when they don’t, they get mad at the coach and quit.

News flash …

You should be able to exercise on your own, if you need to.

You should be able to make healthy food choices based off your goals, on your own.

You should be able to look in the mirror and love what you see, without needing validation from others.

But it’s not up to me to tell people what they should do.

That’s up to them.

What we do do here is, we are the place to go for people over 40 who want to stay healthy and independent into their 90’s, and we teach them the system to make that happen.

You heard me right … other places cater to people between 22 and 40.

Not us, we want people who are 40+ and want to dominate into their 90’s.

I can tell you unequivocally, that everything I teach today, will be something I will doing when I’m 90, and I’ll be killing it then too, along with the rest of my tribe mates, while everyone else will be dead or in the home.

So, If you’ve been to our website before, hopefully you’ve watched the video below.

If you have not, would you take 2 minutes and tell me what you think, please?

We’re looking for another BADASS or two like you 😉

Some of the greatest insights and healing for me, have come from listening to podcasts in the last few years. This long-form type of communication, I’ve found, has been extremely important for understanding context, while learning how to make sustainable change.

That’s why I have started to find ways to get our story on some podcasts, and give you an opportunity to really go deep with us, and see what we’re all about. That way, you can decide if this tribe fits your personality. Click the link below to go to our podcast page, where you can find all our episodes!
