What do you personally value more … wealth or health?
I follow a fellow fitness professional and he asked his tribe this same question, and I thought the answers were very telling …
Most of his people said Health, of course, however, given the situation we’re in, I could see how that might be the answer … right now.
…and I’m calling BS on it!
Who is willingly going to admit, on Facebook of all places, that they value wealth more than health right now … it might seem ‘insensitive’ among other things, especially when everyone is hypersensitive about getting sick.
That’s what rubs me in the not good way …
Most people aren’t focused on getting healthier, they’re focused on not getting sick (from Corona Virus) …
BIG difference.
People are social distancing, wearing masks (even in their cars, alone), washing their hands constantly, and we know some will consider ingesting disinfectants, or other darwinian type things ….
They’re not flocking to online training programs, hiring nutrition coaches, tracking their sleep, practicing gratitude or even drinking enough water with an app.
Hey, if YOU are doing the latter, well done. 😉
Most people aren’t.
People are wearing masks to go to the liquor store and to buy cigarettes, then pulling the masks down in their cars to smoke!
Think about that for a second…
I’m not sure Uber Eats and Grub Hub are delivering a lot of arugula salads with salmon, and green smoothies ;-b
I’m connected to hundreds of fitness professionals.
Nobody’s online business is getting ‘turnt up’. 🙁
So, if the people aren’t really focused on getting healthier now, what about when this is ‘all over’?
Will we see the return of the rat race where people go to jobs they hate, to make money to buy stuff they don’t need, to impress people they really don’t like, just to die and not be able to take all that money and stuff with them?
Are gyms going to have more customers than bars?
Is personal training now considered essential, like other health care workers?
Should McDonalds start marketing the Big Mac salad?
I guess that depends on the REAL answer to the question.
Look, I appreciate creating wealth and like nicer equipment, or enjoying an experience that requires money, etc.
I’m just never going to choose wealth over health.
How about you?

P.S. Here are 4 more ways you can become happier and healthier:
1. Podcasts
Some of the greatest insights and healing for me, have come from listening to podcasts in the last few years. This long-form type of communication, I’ve found, has been extremely important for understanding context, while learning how to make sustainable change.
That’s why I have started to find ways to get our story on some podcasts, and give you an opportunity to really go deep with us, and see what we’re all about. That way, you can decide if this tribe fits your personality. Click the link below to go to our podcast page, where you can find all our episodes!
2. Rise
Rise is the story of ‘never feeling powerful … to … never feeling powerless’. It’s about John Bair’s life, why he does what he does and how his suffering created happiness.
This handwritten book takes you through an intimate, yet, self-revealing journey, which allows you to implant yourself into the story, as it relates to your own, and reveal the steps you’ll need to take, in order to make change a successful reality.
