The Storm Will End

If you are an American citizen, this week has been quite interesting so far.

While we are waiting to see the result of the Presidential Election, it begs the question; How will you handle the result?

Because this has been a historic year, as you know, and it ain’t over yet.

  • What happens if your guy wins?
  • What happens if your guy loses?
  • Will you be able to accept the result and move forward?
  • Or will it set you (and those you love because they depend on you) back?

Because if you’re not sure, let me assure you that this hellacious season we are in, the pandemic and political cesspool, will end.

We will get a handle on Covid-19.

We will ‘be allowed’ back into society like how we were in the past.

And we’ll have a President some will like, and some will not.

I’m not sure about you, however, I will get up, put my pants on (some days), and live my life.

Repeat for another 60 to 70 years, and I’ll be closer to the end than the beginning, if still here.

I’ve made a choice not to let things I can’t control, control my life, and that makes it really simple as to how much of a f**k I give about certain things.

What I can control, is me.

  • My decisions.
  • My beliefs.
  • My thoughts.
  • My feelings.
  • My actions.
  • My results.
  • My identity.

It’s all me, and nobody and nothing can change that – except me.

The same goes for you, {first_name}.

One of my best friends had this quote in a picture frame on his wall when I was dog sitting a few years ago, and it really sums up how to live life (in my opinion) …

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

Are you dancing?

I think we all need to learn a better two-step through this mess, and get a handle on what we can control – ourselves.

Remember that none of us can win, when others lose.

To heal as a nation and as a planet, we must heal ourselves, by building our cup and filling it up often, so we always have something to pour.

Fitness and Nutrition build the cup, while Mindset determines how much you can pour.

Develop those skills now, please, if we all have any chance at a better life while we’re still here.

Yelling, screaming, looting, violence, demeaning and all the ‘other ways of living’ haven’t worked.

The more you build a strong foundation of health, the bigger impact you’ll inevitably have because you’ll be able to do more, more often.

Remember the REAL cost of being overweight?

Well, the reward for taking care of yourself is the ability to ALWAYS be available for those who need you.

What’s better than that?

Oh, well, you’ll also be able to have lots of amazing sex too when you’re in shape and healthy, which isn’t a bad consolation prize.

We all are in this mess because we’ve chosen it.

Let’s choose to be better humans when the storm ends.

Because when the next one comes, we’ll need you …

Be Well – John
