Beautiful or Suffering?

There are 2 primary emotional states of being: Beautiful or Suffering.

Everything we do falls into one of those 2 categories.

During the pandemic, and maybe even your life as a whole, do you believe you’ve spent more time in a Beautiful state of being, or a Suffering state of being?

A Beautiful state of being is where ‘the magic happens’ and we are the truest forms of ourselves, where we can love openly and life feels like it’s in the ‘flow’.

A Suffering state of being is where the magic does not happen, and we believe that our model of the world does match our current life situation, and we feel powerless to change it.

Now, before we go deeper, let’s give some basics first.

We all have spent time in both of these places, because we’ve had no other choice, it was chosen for us.

Examples …

You found out you’re going to be an Uncle or Aunt, and feel really amazing, and in that Beautiful State.

You found out a Co-Worker or Family member died suddenly, unexpectedly, and you feel horrible, and you’re suffering.

Those types of extremes happen, whether we like it or not, and you don’t really have a choice there.

Let’s not argue those.

However, it’s what we do in between, in most everyday life situations.

  • Do you choose to make the best of things and find a way forward, adapt?
  • Or does the littlest bump, after being stressed, cause you suffer a lot, set you off and/or back?

It’s how we handle the bulk of the things we do have in our control, that will dictate what state of being we’re in.

I’d argue that aside from death and taxes (cause they ain’t going anywhere), we can choose to be in a Beautiful state most, if not all the time, despite less than beautiful people or surroundings, versus choosing to make things miserable, cause you’re uncomfortable.

Most people don’t realize how addicted they are to their misery, their poor story, but that’s another email for another time.

Hopefully, you’re choosing to make the best of things and find yourself in a Beautiful state, more often than not.
