It’s ok

You’re probably going to come up against some tempting food, or a have a ‘fun’ situation you can’t avoid this holiday season, and you’re going to slip …

Perhaps you have a few too many cookies and eggnog, or you end up being overly curt with your in-laws during their visits …

It’s ok.

You’re not a bad person and won’t be judged … not by me anyway.

It’s what we do after those situations that matters the most.

You could throw in the towel, get pissed, and use it all as an excuse to fall off the rails … again … sabotaging your success … again … and creating all the evidence you’ll ever need in order to always stay stuck in this negative loop …

You could acknowledge what actually happened, like an adult, with some logic …

Sure, you may have some emotional response like “Why did I do this, it’s not what I really wanted.”

However, your actions and results state otherwise.

I don’t say that to be mean, or a jerk.

I say that to remind us of the 5 primary drivers, or, how the mind works.

  1. If you don’t believe your health is worth working for, you won’t.
  2. Your thoughts will reflect that.
  3. Which will make you feel yucky, sub-consciously.
  4. Leading to the self-sabotaging actions, or worse, inaction.
  5. And thus, the result of ‘eating or doing the thing’ that you didn’t want to, and getting pissed about it – instead of getting over it.

All of those behaviors are wrapped up in that tidy little loop I just described, based on the evidence you have.

You see, you believe what you believe because somewhere in your mind you have evidence that this belief is true for you, even if this belief does not align with what you actually value in life, or even remember.

Which is why people who say they value their health, will eat cookies at a holiday party and then beat themselves up about it.

They don’t have evidence to the contrary, that they don’t actually have to live that way.

To find that evidence, they just need to look into their own lives to where they changed something they didn’t like about there life.

And if they’ve never changed anything, they either don’t want to change, which is rarely the case when a person is suffering, or haven’t been watching other people in the world who have changed.

The things you want … someone else has.

It’s been done.

Because they believed it.

Which reminds me of this quote “Those who believe it can’t be done are usually interrupted by those who are doing it.”

So, what do you believe?

Because I believe you can change anything you truly want to … within the realm of actual possibility … just not your in-laws, lol.

I look forward to your response 🙂

1. Podcasts

Some of the greatest insights and healing for me, have come from listening to podcasts in the last few years. This long-form type of communication, I’ve found, has been extremely important for understanding context, while learning how to make sustainable change.

That’s why I have started to find ways to get our story on some podcasts, and give you an opportunity to really go deep with us, and see what we’re all about. That way, you can decide if this tribe fits your personality. Click the link below to go to our podcast page, where you can find all our episodes!

This handwritten book takes you through an intimate, yet, self-revealing journey, which allows you to implant yourself into the story, as it relates to your own, and reveal the steps you’ll need to take, in order to make change a successful reality.
