Where is the love?

Do you love yourself?

I know that just smacked you in the face, but I’d like to know.

You see, I have a theory that most of the worlds issues stem from a lack of loving oneself.

Truly caring enough about ourselves to take care of our mental and physical health, along with our spiritual health, or faith.

If every person did those things, put their health first and did whatever they needed in order to be at their best, all this pain, aggravation, division and idiocy could actually be sorted out, and likely would clear up most of all of our humanity issues.

Instead, we never ‘feel like we’re enough’ … so why try, right?

It would be really hard to call someone an asshole if you were able to ‘get on their side of the fence’ to listen and understand what they are going through with their experience, to hear them, like you want to be heard.

Same goes in reverse, a person who’s healthy and not in pain, is less likely to blow up at someone just for expressing an opinion.

When people feel good about themselves, they don’t feel the need to ‘pee in someone else’s cheerios’.

And the best part is that once a person has built the habit of loving themselves, they naturally have more energy and want to help others feel as they do.

Things like eating well, exercising and monitoring their mental health helps them show up at their best.

It’s a reciprocal lifestyle that is impossible to resist, but because so much of the world clings on to their pain, it’s almost impossible for them to believe there is another way.

That maybe, even though life has challenged them, it was so that they could be better, learn to love themselves and be of service to those who don’t love themselves.

It’s up to you to show them how.

It’s up to me to show them how.

By doing it for myself.

By you doing it for yourself.

Otherwise, we’re all screwed …
